SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – September 03, 2026 – Australian-Italian filmmaker Flaminia Romani is preparing to begin work on an upcoming feature film with a distinctive Hitchcockian cinematic influence, marking another important step in her developing career across international film and television.
Romani will join the production in a professional filmmaking capacity, bringing her experience in cinematography, camera operation and directing to a project rooted in atmosphere, suspense and visual storytelling.
The upcoming film draws inspiration from the cinematic language traditionally associated with legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, particularly his distinctive approach to suspense, psychological tension, composition and the relationship between camera and character. Rather than relying solely on dialogue or conventional storytelling, the project places strong emphasis on creating atmosphere and allowing images, movement and framing to contribute to the narrative.

Romani has undertaken extensive formal film training, completing a Master in Filmmaking from Link Campus University of Rome and a Degree in Filmmaking from the American University of Rome. Her previous filmmaking work includes the short film SPUD, which received a Tropfest nomination.
Her professional experience encompasses multiple areas of production, including directing, cinematography, camera operation and writing. She is also affiliated with professional industry organisations including the Australian Writers’ Guild (AWG), Australian Directors’ Guild (ADG),
Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS), Society of Camera Operators (SOC), Screen Producers Australia (SPA) and the Synchronization Music Supervisors Society (SSMS).
The upcoming production represents an opportunity for Romani to work within a film environment where visual precision and cinematic atmosphere are central to the creative process.
