I CAN 4IR was founded in 2018 by Dr David Molapo as a direct response to the growing need for effective, adaptable leadership in an increasingly digitized world. With over 2,000 projects completed and a client base of more than 9,500, I CAN 4IR has become a respected name in leadership development.
Dr Molapo’s path to this achievement began in KwaThema, South Africa, where he faced financial challenges and political imprisonment during his youth. A turning point came through education, which he pursued relentlessly, eventually earning degrees in Education and Leadership from institutions in the USA under a United Nations program. His return to South Africa marked the beginning of his professional journey, which included founding the I Can Leadership Institute Africa and serving as the first Black director of Dimension Data Holdings.
His experience in corporate leadership exposed him to widespread deficits in leadership across various sectors. This insight directly informed the creation of I CAN 4IR—a consultancy built to bridge that gap. The organisation operates with a clear value system: personal empowerment, tolerance, integrity, innovation, and quality service. Its programs are designed not only to impart skills but to foster long-term behavioral transformation among leaders.
