The Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) held its annual meeting on April 22, 2023, bringing together physicians and healthcare professionals from across the state to discuss the latest trends and developments in medicine.
The meeting featured a range of informative sessions on topics including healthcare policy, patient care, and medical education, as well as opportunities for attendees to connect with colleagues and network with industry leaders.
In addition to the educational sessions, the meeting also included the presentation of several awards recognizing the contributions of outstanding physicians and healthcare professionals in Illinois.
One such award was Volunteer Physician of the Year, which recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in their contributions to the field of medicine, education, and advocacy through voluntary activities and initiatives. Recipients are highly regarded by their peers, patients, and community members for their exceptional dedication and service.
This year’s award was presented to Dr. Terri Dallas-Prunskis, co-founder of the Illinois Pain and Spine Institute.
“I have been so privileged to find something that I can do to help my community that has also become a passion of mine. What has been the real blessing is that others have also attached themselves to this project and have been instrumental in making it successful,” said Dr. Dallas-Prunskis.
