We stepped into Goodluck Tent’s production workshop and documented the entire process — from raw material intake to final packing — for a batch of 50mm hexagonal aluminum frame tents.

Station 1: Raw Material Receiving – Quality Control Starts at the Tube

Everything starts with the tube.

The tubes used for the 50mm hexagonal aluminum frame are made of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy profiles. The anodized surface treatment is completed at the aluminum mill, providing good corrosion resistance and surface hardness. Once delivered to our factory, the tubes can be stored directly in the warehouse or sent straight to the cutting station for processing.

For export orders, batch traceability information is logged into the system at the same time — so the source and treatment record of every batch of tubes can be tracked.

Station 2: Cutting and Punching – Precision Is the First Step

Once the tubes enter the processing workshop, the first operations are cutting and punching.

The cutting process determines the final length of each frame component — side columns, leg columns, and cross tubes. Precision is critical here: even small errors can cause components to misalign during assembly, affecting the tent’s overall stability.

Punching prepares the tubes for connector installation. The position and diameter of every hole must match the design drawings exactly. After processing, components go through an initial quality check to weed out any out-of-tolerance parts.

Station 3: Welding – Strength and Finish Go Hand in Hand

After cutting and punching, the tubes move to welding.

Weld quality directly affects how the frame performs under wind load. Weak spots or uneven seams can become safety risks over time, especially in harsh weather. Once welding is complete, every weld seam is visually inspected to ensure there are no cold welds, missed seams, or excess slag.

A special note: since the tubes have already been anodized, welding parameters are carefully controlled to ensure consistent, strong seams while minimizing heat impact on the surrounding anodized layer. After welding, the area around the seams is cleaned and finished to maintain a uniform appearance.

Once welding is done, the frames move to assembly — no additional surface coating is required.

Station 4: Assembly and Connector Installation – Every Screw Matters

After cutting, punching, welding, and finishing, the frame components enter the assembly workshop.

Assembly is where the most information is packed into the process. The order of connector installation, screw torque, and lock smoothness — every detail is checked one by one.

Common connectors used on the 50mm hexagonal aluminum frame include:

High-strength nylon connectors – used at key frame joints, requiring secure placement and smooth locking

304 stainless steel screws – rust-resistant, suitable for humid outdoor environments

Pull rings and lock mechanisms – tested through multiple open-close cycles to ensure smooth operation

Once each frame is assembled, our assembly team performs a preliminary open-close test to confirm that the structure moves without sticking or unusual noise.

Station 5: Quality Control – Every Frame Is Hand-Checked

QC is one of the most time‑intensive and strictly enforced stages in the entire production process.

Every 50mm hexagonal aluminum frame goes through individual inspection before leaving the factory. The QC checklist includes:

Dimension re-check – are the critical spacings consistent with the drawings?

Connector torque check – have all screws been tightened to the required spec?

Surface check – are there any scratches or dents on the anodized layer?

Frame open-close test – simulating real-world setup and takedown to verify mechanism smoothness and lock reliability

Structural stability check – applying light pressure to test for looseness or abnormal sounds

Once a frame passes QC, it is tagged with a “QC PASS” label and moves to packing. Any frame that fails any check is marked for rework or rejection.

Station 6: Packing – Getting the Product to the Customer Safely

Packing is the final step in production — and the customer’s first physical impression of the product.

Packing for the 50mm hexagonal aluminum frame needs to balance protection and shipping efficiency:

Frame components are sorted and bundled according to assembly sequence

Critical points (connectors, locks, etc.) are protected with cushioning material

Once packed, each set moves to the designated staging area, ready for container loading

For export orders, packaging also takes ocean shipping conditions into account — moisture protection, rust prevention, and impact resistance. Every packed set is clearly marked with shipping labels for easy identification and counting upon arrival.
