Programming in Solidity, an elegant introduction to Solidity Programming, has been published by The Blockchain Academy. The book provides the reader with basic background information on how blockchains work and how they are evolving.

The book’s content then introduces next generation blockchains, the concept of smart contracts, and the Solidity programming language.

The Solidity programming language has grown beyond Ethereum. It is supported on Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, and soon more Blockchains. It is becoming the programming language of Global Blockchains.

Programming in Solidity: Your Guide to Building Smart Contracts by James J.Sullivan

The lead author of the book is Jim Sullivan, CTO and lead Trainer with The Blockchain Academy with contributions from The Blockchain Academy Founder and CEO, Bryant Nielson, CTO and Executive Director, Ryan Williams.

“Programming in Solidity is a Solidity workbook with hands on examples aimed at developers,” says Sullivan.

“All Solidity Smart Contracts are available on GitHub and can be downloaded. Demos are available on YouTube. Though not a complete Solidity reference, a user with foundational knowledge and experience in cryptocurrencies and in common programming languages will be able to confidently enter the world of Solidity smart contracts using the provided descriptions of the key building blocks and the step-by-step guidance for employing Solidity tools (Remix IDE and Truffle).

“We welcome reader feedback and questions on the book’s content,” he says.
