A renowned Kazak fashion model has become one of her country’s most popular and respected international models after landing a place at a prestigious U.S. pageant.
Aika Iskakova is set to appear this month as a contestant in the Miss Fashion Global pageant in Florida and has high hopes of winning the crown for her nation.

Miss Iskakova will compete against 60 other pageant queens from various categories in the pageant which prides itself on diversity, body positivity and inclusivity. Categories for models include; fit, petite curvy, runway, forty and older and teen. And as a petite model at just 5ft 6in tall, Aika Iskakova hopes to elevate the voices of Kazakh women and help showcase her unique and unusual country to the world.
She said of the upcoming pageant ”People have a conception of pageants being all about looks and appearance, but for me, this pageant represents so much more than just beauty. It’s about combining femininity with both intelligence and sophistication and using our attributes as women to help empower and inspire others”.
In addition to her current activities with the pageant, the elegant Kazakh native is also an established fashion model and cover star who has appeared in numerous magazines including; FHM, Vanity Teen and British Thoughts. She also regularly walks the catwalk at New York Fashion Week and models for high-end fashion brands, something which she has dreamed of since a young age.
Growing up in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s second largest city, she dreamed of moving to America to become both a pageant queen and a model but said oftentimes her dreams would seem out of reach “I felt if I kept thinking of the same dream over and over again, like magic, it would eventually happen. Every night I would close my eyes and hope that my vision would become reality”.
Her dreams slowly started to come into fruition at age 15 when she was scouted by a modelling agency and selected to appear in several fashion commercials. This lucky break eventually led to more and more exposure and finally 5 years ago she moved to New York, the fashion capital of the world.
She has since gone on to become a hugely popular public figure in Kazakhstan, a country which has a population of just 18 million people, and has won thousands of adoring fans who look up to her as an inspirational role model for their nation.
Aika now wants to use her platform to help encourage and empower other women and girls who want to make it in the fashion industry, sharing tips and advice on how to achieve their dreams and express themselves. By winning the Miss Fashion Global pageant, she wants to help draw attention to her country to encourage both tourism and awareness to help others find the same opportunities that she has been able to experience.
