Amersfoort, The Netherlands – September 28, 2021 – Updated 3D Cityplanner offers access to more than two million datasets worldwide, over 350 million buildings and an automatic building and site generator: ‘Create and compare new urban scenarios within minutes.

In the past year, we have taken significant steps to make the 3D Cityplanner even better suited to the practice of urban planners, housing associations, project developers and builders.

‘These improved features make our program more accessible for users and more conceivable for all stakeholders’, says director of the firm Anne Dullemond: ‘With this new edition we can say: ‘create and compare new urban scenarios within minutes!’

At the start of an urban development project, there is a need for information about the location.  By zooming in on a site and typing in a keyword, dozens of layers appear that are immediately available. By adding these layers to your account, you can analyze your location and create your own ‘Digital Twin’.

When you have found a location, you can designate an area and demolish or preserve all existing buildings in it. The system immediately calculates what it costs at that location.

Then, with our highly advanced new functionality, you can fill in the area with single-family homes, apartments or other functions automatically. Of course, you can also draw and adjust the buildings by hand.

In the new project statistics, you can immediately see what has been built, the parking needs, and the costs and revenues.

When you have entered several variants, you can easily put projects next to each other and compare them on dozens of aspects. For example, you can compare the number of houses built, area use, 4D planning and parking spaces.

The 3D Cityplanner is used in the early pre-exploration up to the feasibility phase. Loading BIM models, Sketchup files or GIS files is possible and ensures the integration with the existing systems you use as an organization.

And last but not least, an essential feature: you can export the projects you have created to KML (to be used in Google Earth), SHP (to be used in a Gis package such as Qgis or Esri or save as Geojson (a GIS uniform exchange format).

The 3D Cityplanner is used by students, universities, companies and municipalities worldwide. A starter version is available for $ 53,- a month.
