Online Co-Parenting Classes Aim to Improve Communication and Co-Parenting Relationships

Dr. Janella Street, a licensed Clinical and Forensic Psychologist, is conducting Introspective Comprehensive CoParenting (ICC), an online program based on the co-parenting techniques developed by Dr. Janella Street herself. Each participant will receive 12 hours of co-parenting instructions along with a certificate of completion.

This course provides co-parents with the tools to improve and enrich their co-parenting relationships. Led by Dr. Street, this program puts children first and helps families to make healthy decisions collectively. It teaches parents to focus on their individual ability to regulate emotions, communicate clearly, and practice various conflict resolution techniques. ICC classes are more efficient and cost less than half the price of traditional co-parenting therapy. Success completion of the course also fulfills most court-mandated orders for co-parenting education.

Divorce and family separations cause depression and anxiety to all parties, including children. With Summer vacation almost here, the change in the custody schedule inevitably can increase tension between co-parents and anxiety for the kids. The onus falls on the parents to master the art of co-parenting so that it is smooth for them and their children. There are several emotional benefits to collaborative co-parenting, which ultimately lower the tension and positively impact the mental health of all the family members.

Developed by Dr. Street, ICC focuses on identifying an individual’s core parenting values and teaching ways to decrease Stressed Emotional Responses (SER). Each parent is taught cognitive-behavioral methods that guide and help them meet the challenging co-parenting relationship. This program will also identify the emotional triggers that harm communication in the co-parenting relationship and teach coping skills to decrease the impact of those triggers.

“Co-parenting has unique challenges. Learning a specific set of skills can significantly improve your co-parenting experience,” says Dr. Street.

COVID-19 has added unique obstacles to the already stressful process of divorce and separation. Therefore, it is only imperative to build stronger child-rearing partnerships. Introspective Comprehensive Co-parenting (ICC) is a modern approach developed by Dr. Janella Street to reduce stress and improve co-parenting relationships and communication.
