Canine Biologics, Maker of Nutrition Systems for Dogs Battling Cancer, Launches Equity Crowdfunding Campaign

Denver, Colo. – June 9, 2021 – Canine Biologics, developer of the only integrated nutrition system designed exclusively to support dogs battling cancer, has launched an investment crowdfunding campaign on WeFunder. Capital raised during this round will provide for ongoing operations, expanded marketing efforts, new product development, and entry into international markets.

In North America alone, 500,000 dogs are diagnosed with cancer each month. Of the dogs that live to age ten, half will eventually get cancer. While many medical and surgical treatments exist to support dogs fighting this battle, the founders of Canine Biologics realized the market for nutrition specifically formulated to support dogs with cancer was not being served. They set out to change that.

Seeking to provide a customized approach to nutrition that enables dogs to continue to have a high quality of life after being diagnosed with cancer, Canine Biologics launched in 2020. Its Integrated Nutrition System consists of three parts: human-grade food, wild-caught Alaskan salmon oil, and more than two dozen supplements. This unique, cross-balanced diet is adjusted to meet each dog’s specific needs through Canine Biologics’ proprietary algorithms.

A team of PhD-degreed veterinarians, oncologists, nutritionists and biochemists brought together the findings and evidence from dozens of peer-reviewed research studies and clinical trials to formulate the nutrition required to support the digestive, immune, integumentary and other physiologic systems of dogs fighting cancer.

“As a life-long dog owner, I understand the devastation of a cancer diagnosis,” says Canine Biologics founder, president, and CEO Jeff Sutherland. “But it doesn’t have to mean that a dog’s best days are over. With proper nutritional support, dogs battling cancer can continue to have the energy and vitality to run, play, and love as they always have.”

The three-part Integrated Nutrition System starts with fresh, high-quality, USDA-human-grade food – specifically a high-protein, high-fat, low-carb combination of chicken, vegetables, and grains – that is cooked and then freeze-dried to maintain freshness and nutrient density, and to eliminate the need for preservatives. Next comes the wild-caught Alaskan salmon oil, which provides exceptional nutritional benefits that contribute to the body’s recovery response – promoting digestion, aiding in the retention of other important nutrients, and reducing inflammation, itchy skin, and other common problems. The final piece of the puzzle comes from a proprietary blend of supplements consisting of more than two dozen plant extracts, amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

“The science behind our approach is complex,” says Sutherland, “but the results are simple: our system can help dogs absorb nutrients and maintain weight and muscle mass while reducing inflammation, all of which can lead to higher quality of life for the dog – and may even make some cancer treatments more effective.”
