Indianapolis assisted living provider offers reduced rates and expedited move-ins through Priority Stay Vaccination Program

As the first doses of the newly-approved COVID-19 vaccine begin circulating through Marion County, many are scrambling to determine when they’ll be able to receive it, based on their CDC-appointed vaccination status. One senior living provider, whose residents and team members are authorized for prioritized vaccination, is doing its part to make sure as many local seniors receive the vaccine as possible through its Priority Stay Vaccination Program. The Hearth, an assisted living and memory care provider, with communities in Greenwood and Zionsville, is waiving all move-in fees and offering reduced, daily rates, with no long-term commitment, to help get local seniors through their doors, and therefore eligible for early vaccination.

“After the past tumultuous year, I think we all need to do some self-reflection and identify things we can do to pitch in and move the country forward,” said Kevin Hunter, The Hearth’s C.O.O. “Since we were lucky enough to get the 1A certification, I feel as if it’s our responsibility to offer it to as many seniors as possible. Our nation’s elderly have been isolated, scared, and uncertain about how this virus will impact them. If The Hearth can offer them the slightest sliver of hope by making this vaccine more accessible, then by all means, I’m happy to sign on the dotted line, waive some fees, and help those in need.”

The Hearth has secured CVS as its vaccine provider and is diligently working with the nationwide pharmaceutical provider to establish a timeline for distribution. Although every Hearth resident and team member will have the option to receive the COVID-19 vaccine early, vaccination is not mandatory.

“I know that making a commitment to any business, especially at a time like now, is scary,” added Hunter. “That’s why we’re also not requiring that new residents sign a long-term contract, if they want to take advantage of early vaccination. It just feels like the right thing to do.”
