The eighth Hangzhou Employment and Entrepreneurship Mentorship Program for College Students commenced at the International Chuangbo Center in Qiantang New Area in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, on Nov 28.

The program appointed 145 college students from 30 universities in Hangzhou as the “Hangzhou ambassadors for employment” at the opening ceremony of the program.

During their one-year term in office, these “ambassadors” will hold a series of activities, promote entrepreneurship policies among their peers, and seek out role models for entrepreneurship.

The ceremony featured a speech by Lu Hualiang, the board director of Hangzhou Onechance Tech Group. In his speech, Lu shared his inspiring experience of starting a business.

The China Hangzhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Area Office, together with the Hangzhou Human Resource and Social Security Bureau and the government of Qiantang New Area, launched the nation’s first Global Cross-Border Talent Ecology Center during the ceremony.

The center will introduce cross-border e-commerce training institutes to provide training for college students.

“We plan to introduce more than 200 cross-border e-commerce companies within three years, exporting goods worth more than $100 million,” said Wu Changhong, an officer at the Hangzhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Area Office.
