LunarBLVD Announces Release Of Pyramids
LunarBLVD’s multicultural music pushes boundaries and strives for international appeal as reflected in their new single, “Pyramids.” Their style is built on genre-blending production and stories of diverse cultural backgrounds. The band conveys these stories through an entertaining melting pot of genres.

LunarBLVD, an independent hip-hop/R&B trio based in Chicago and Los Angeles is proud to announce the release of their newest single, “Pyramids,” now streaming on all major platforms. The band represents a unique blend of culture and racial diversity with members from the African, Caucasian, and Latin American communities. Given the inclusive nature of their LA-based studio, they strive to further push the boundaries of diversity by introducing a melting-pot of urban, international, and electronic music genres with an American twist.

Following the May 2019 release of their full-length debut album Midnight Instincts, LunarBLVD is carving out a niche for themselves in the underground hip-hop scene with their follow-up single “UFO” gaining radio airplay in the UK as well as several influential Spotify playlists.

“Pyramids” is about highs and lows on the path to success. The lyrics talk about the struggles of creation alongside the necessity of pursuing one’s passion and achieving artistic fulfillment through dedication to the craft. Beyond the message of artistic pursui in “Pyramids,” LunarBLVD prides itself on their “multicultural sound” which has its foundation in the confluence of backgrounds comprising the up-and-coming trio.

Born in Venezuela and raised in Miami FL, Eduardo “BLVD” Urbaez (Producer) was split between cultures at a young age. Given his diverse background and his travels, he was exposed to a variety of Western, Middle Eastern, European, and Caribbean music genres. These were the catalysts that sparked his passion for music production and composition. Now he is the producer and DJ of the LunarBLVD crew.

Kris “Lunar” Dagen (Rapper/Lyricist) grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL and was influenced by the poetic elements of hip-hop and R&B music. As a young man he excelled in English and poetry writing by interpreting the experiences of his less fortunate relatives who relayed the hard truths behind the streets of Chicago. Lunar has translated his experiences and upbringing into vivid stories that fuel the songs of LunarBLVD’s portfolio.

Originally from Virginia, Mark Alan (Vocals/Guitar) is a classically trained actor who brings a wide range of experiences to LunarBLVD including singing and songwriting for punk band, Crash Everest, and folk duo, Mark & Rosie. He is now thrilled to bring his creativity to the LA underground hip-hop scene and share his unfolding story.

“Pyramids” was recorded at Bedrock LA and engineered by Eugene Toale (The College Dropout). The song features guest appearances by violinist Molly Rogers (Hans Zimmer Live, Game of Thrones Live, Portugal the Man), Evan Hatfield (Pink Turban) playing Hang Drum and Sitar, as well as Crisia Regalado (Sín Color), David McCullough (Stonechild) and Brandon Vara providing guest vocals.

The sum total is an entrancing blend of instrumentals supporting a thunderous BLVD beat, enhanced by the poetic intensity of Lunar’s raps and Mark Alan’s vocal melodies. “Pyramids” is available now on all major platforms including Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, and Apple Music.
