Bklyn Commons & Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Presents - The 3rd Annual Open Desk - Small Business Pop-Up
Community-wide event kicks off Small Business Saturday

Brooklyn, New York – November 4, 2019 – In celebration of the upcoming Small Business Saturday, BKLYN Commons, in partnership with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, presents the “3rd Annual Open Desk: Small Business Pop Up.” The event takes place 3 – 4pm, Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at BKLYN Commons, 495 Flatbush Ave. “The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is excited to partner with BKLYN Commons on this important and timely event,” says Chamber President, Randy Peers. “BKLYN Commons has become a leader in the co-working movement in the borough, and their clients are the types of businesses the Chamber seeks to support as part of technical assistance focus.”

Other partnering stakeholders include NYC Small Business Services, Flatbush Avenue BID, CAMBA, Inside BKLYN Podcast, and Brooklyn Tech Week. The goal of this event is to provide the community-at-large with access to a variety of professional services and resources. Whether it’s legal advice on immigration, budgeting from a financial planner or marketing for small businesses, BKLYN Commons members are opening their offices and offering the community one-on-one consultations and best-practice-strategies. “Small businesses are the backbone of any thriving community,” says Johanne Brierre, Head of Growth for BKLYN Commons. “BKLYN Commons has a diverse membership consisting of a wealth of seasoned professionals that are committed to making meaningful contributions to the communities they serve.”

Just in time for the holiday season, the BKLYN Commons Small Business Pop Up will also feature a local vendor market. This signature event addition provides an opportunity for local entrepreneurs, crafters and makers to showcase and sell their goods and services in an open, festive marketplace setting. In addition, the New York City Small Business Service Center’s mobile office will be on-site. Their team will assist business owners with M/WBE certification applications and offer assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs on how they can become vendors and do business with the city.

BKLYN Commons is a community-centered, member-focused co-working space with large open-desk areas, furnished private offices, tech-equipped conference rooms, and luxury event space. BKLYN Commons has two easily accessible locations; one in Flatbush/PLG at 495 Flatbush Ave., right across the street from the Parkside Q, B train station, and the other in Bushwick/Bedford-Stuyvesant at 7 Marcus Garvey Blvd., adjacent to the Flushing Avenue stop on the J/M line. BKLYN Commons is where solopreneurs and innovative start-ups are changing the world and small businesses are thriving at a next-level capacity.
