Make changes to a router’s settings quickly and easily using 192.168.1.1

California, USA – 192.168.1.1 is a private IP address used to log in to the admin panel of a router. Pre-specified by the router companies as the default gateway address, 192.168.l.l is a useful tool which can be used to make different changes to the router’s settings, including changing the Wi-Fi password, username, or other default Wi-Fi settings.

Logging in to 192.168.1.1 is a simple process.  After opening a web browser, visit http://192.168.1.1, or type 192.168.1.1 into the browser’s URL bar.  A login page will appear, and the user will be asked to enter a username and password. After entering a username and password into the designated fields, the user will be logged in to the Admin Panel.

According to the website, if the user is unable to access the router’s admin panel at 192.168.1.1, then it’s possible to use a different IP address such as 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1.

In the event that you have forgotten the IP Address Username and Password, or if they are not working, this can be easily resolved with the following steps:

  • Look at the manual/box of the router, or check the default username and password list.
  • If the password has been changed and lost or forgotten, then a factory reset can be applied.  There is a small hidden RESET button on the back of the router. After pressing and holding that button for about 10 to 15 seconds using a paper clip or a needle, the router will reboot itself and will be back to default settings.
