Kendall Park, NJ – Warrior Today founder Michael C. Agugliaro has spent the better part of his life learning the fundamentals of self-defense from some of the top coaches and combat trainers in the world and has participated in intensive study and training in executive protection and response tactics at the Executive Protection Institute. His credentials enabled him to train alongside Special Forces personnel in “real world scenarios” and Michael now holds multiple belts in martial arts and prestige certifications like his “Level 1 Certified” in No Lie Blades Combat. This respected warrior has dedicated his life to education and training and he can now say he has participated in the types of programs only available to an elite few. Today, Michael spends most of his time at his own dojo helping others learn how to be more confident and capable. This year he released a new book, How to Be a Modern-Day Warrior with the hopes of helping even more people learn how to defend themselves, their families, and grow in self-confidence.

“We live in a world that is far more dangerous in many ways than that of previous generations and yet when you talk to people they feel like they’re safe because they have their smartphone with them at all times and ‘cops are everywhere’,” Michael explains. “The tough pill for many to swallow is that on average cops take about thirteen minutes to arrive on a scene, eight if the situation is identified as critical. Thirteen minutes is a lot of time when you’re in crisis. Most crimes take less than 3 minutes to commit. That’s why I run a dojo and that’s why I wrote this book, to help people learn how to help themselves.”

He explains that the best defense is a good offense and offers several pointers in his book and in his programs. Situational awareness is Step One in Michael’s system.  He urges people to never take their surroundings for granted. Even if a parking lot is well lit or there are security guards he maintains that people need to take that time seriously. “Put the phone down,” he urges. “Be aware of your environment. Anticipate that someone could be waiting behind a car or ready to open up their van doors. Avoid walking too close to vehicles in parking lots. Walk confidently and learn some basic self-defense maneuvers.”

Michael’s first book, How To Be A Modern-Day Warrior, has been recently published and is now available on Amazon.
